Synopsis

The book Zeca mixes in its narrative real elements and other playful elements of riverside life in the largest tropical forest on the planet. Guided by the adventures of a riverside boy, the story presents elements of life in the forest mixed with local knowledge that is so important for nature conservation. The illustrations are a reinterpretation of the real and the imaginary, giving lightness, beauty and depth to the story.

Author Biographies

Juliane Marques de Souza, Roraima State University/UERR

Professor of the Biological Sciences Course at the State University of Roraima and the Professional Master's Degree in Science Teaching at the same University; Bachelor (2009) and Degree in Biological Sciences from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (2006). Master in Rural Development by the Postgraduate Program in Rural Development - (PGDR) by the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (2009); Master in Paleontology - Paleobotany by the Post-Graduate Program in Geosciences (PPGGEO) at the same university (2008). PhD in Paleontology from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (2013). She did postdoctoral studies at the Birbal Sahni Institute of Palaeobotany, India (2015). She is a reviewer of the journal ARETË (UFAM) and a member of the editorial board of the Bulletin of the Integrated Museum of Roraima (BolMIRR). Currently she has been dedicated to projects for the scientific dissemination of Paleontology in the state of Roraima, as well as projects for the study and description of the meso-cenozoic flora of the Tacutu sedimentary basin.

Thiago José Costa Alves, State University of Roraima/UERR

Professor linked to the Tourism, Social Service and Agroecology Program (PPGA/UERR) courses. Researcher and coordinator of the Tourism, Ecology and Environment Laboratory. Egress from the Postgraduate Program in Tourism at the University of Caxias do Sul (Mestrado_2006-2008); Egress from the Postgraduate Program in Environmental Sciences and Sustainability of the Amazon (Doctorado_2012-2016). It has the Baixo Rio Branco as the main area of ​​action where it discusses the dialectical process of riverside life from family agroecosystems to the interactions proposed by capital with the purpose of social (re)production (2010 - Current). The main fronts of studies undertaken are related to Amazonian agroecosystems, immaterial labor of Amazonian populations, Tourism in the Amazon and tourism studies. He was coordinator of the Bachelor's Degree in Tourism at the State University of Roraima (Note 4 in ENADE) (2018-2020). He was an advisor to the Municipal Tourism Council (Boa Vista-RR) and the State Tourism Forum of Roraima (2018-2020). He provided consultancy to FUNBIO (2020) with environmental technical reports on the creation of the Nascentes State Park, Catrimani State Park and the Xeruini Sustainable Development Reserve.
