This book was produced by members of the Laboratory of Floral and Reproductive Biology of UNIFAP/Campus Mazagão (FLOREM), in partnership with the Nucleus of Study in Agroecology and Organic Production of UNIFAP/Campus Mazagão (NEA-UNIFAP/MZG) and as part of the extension project "Meliponário NEA-UNIFAP/MZG: from the university to rural schools". The project, registered at UNIFAP's Extension Department and with the support of the Institutional Extension Scholarship Program (PIBEX), aimed to disseminate scientific knowledge about bees, in particular about stingless bees, and their rational breeding to high school students. Elementary I of rural schools, in the state of Amapá. Faced with the ecological dimension of bees and for their benefit, the project sought to popularize academic knowledge, promote environmental education and raise awareness of the conservation of the environment and its natural resources. Developed by academics from the Degree Course in Rural Education, the project also contributed to the qualification of future education professionals, in the development and production of this book, an educational material regionalized and adapted to their reality and the target audience.
