Synopsis

The book “Amazonian Sociobiodiversity: agroecological knowledge, perspectives and practices” aims to promote and disseminate the agroecological knowledge produced in the Amazon to society in general, in order to encourage and value the research produced in the region. This is the first volume of articles on agroecological themes, with a total of twelve articles distributed in two parts, the first dealing with the functional biodiversity of the Amazon and the second part that brings together research focused on agroecology and the environment in the Amazon.

Author Biographies

Plínio Henrique Oliveira Gomide, Roraima State University/UERR

Agricultural Engineer from the Federal University of Lavras (2007) - UFLA, Master in Soil Science from UFLA (2009), Doctor in Soil Science from the Federal University of Lavras (2013). Professor at the State University of Roraima (UERR). Coordinator of the Postgraduate Master's Program in Agroecology - PPGA at the State University of Roraima (Ordinance No. 009 of January 5, 2015). He works mainly on the following topics: Agricultural Microbiology, Soil Microbiology and Biochemistry, Soil and Water Conservation, Recovery of Degraded Areas and Agroecology.

Marcia Teixeira Falcao, Roraima State University/UERR

Graduated in Geography from the Federal University of Roraima (2001), Master in Natural Resources from the Federal University of Roraima (2007) and PhD in Biotechnology and Biodiversity - Museu Paraense Emílio Goeldi / Universidade Federal do Pará (2016). She served as chief editor of the magazine Ambiente, Gestão e Desenvolvimento. She is currently coordinator of the Geography Degree Course at UERR, is part of the editorial board of UERR Editions and section editor of Revista Casa de Makunaima, is a professor of Geography and the Stricto Sensu programs in Geography / UFRR (Master's) and Agroecology / UERR (Master's). She is coordinator of the Research Ethics Committee - CEP / UERR and rapporteur for the National Research Ethics Commission - CONEP. Has experience in the area of Geography, with emphasis on: environmental education, geomorphology, biodiversity and conservation
