Synopsis

The objective of this book is to present some of the results obtained in the Teacher Training Program for the Reception of Migrants, an extension project developed by professors of the Languages ​​course at the State University of Roraima, in partnership with the State Department of Education. With the purpose of training basic education teachers to develop and adapt projects, activities and teaching materials that enable the linguistic reception of migrant students, the program offered basic knowledge about linguistic reception and language teaching in multilingual contexts; discussed theoretical issues related to language teaching from a multilingual and multicultural perspective; provided opportunities for reflection on plural approaches to teaching migrant students; developed communication strategies to assist in language teaching in basic education; evaluated the process after the application of strategies and materials in the classroom and, in this work, the successful experiences developed during the implementation of the program are presented. In this context, the basic education teachers who participated in the program became protagonists in the development of the activities.

Author Biographies

Cora Elena Gonzalo Zambrano, State University of Roraima

Doutora em Estudos Linguísticos (UFMG) e Mestre em Letras (UFRR), na área de Linguística Aplicada, com pesquisas sobre questões de fronteira e migração. Professora do curso de Letras da Universidade Estadual de Roraima (UERR). Professora do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Letras da UFRR. Tem experiência em ensino de Espanhol e Português como língua adicional. Realiza pesquisas referentes ao Português como Língua Adicional (PLA), com foco na interculturalidade, nas políticas linguísticas e na formação de professores de línguas. É líder do grupo de pesquisa Português como Língua Adicional em Roraima (CNPQ/UERR). É membro do grupo de pesquisa IndisciPLAR: Português como Língua Adicional em perspectiva indisciplinar (UNICAMP). É membro do grupo de pesquisa Estudos Críticos sobre Linguagens, Letramentos e Educação (UFMG). Coordena o Programa de Extensão Ensino de Línguas e Formação de Professores da UERR. É coordenadora de área do Subprojeto Interdisciplinar Letras e Ciências Humanas e Sociais - PIBID 2024.

Jairzinho Rabelo, State University of Roraima

Licenciado e Mestre em Letras pela UFRR; especialista em Metodologia de Ensino de Língua Portuguesa e Literatura pelo IBPEX; Doutor em Linguística e Língua Portuguesa pela Unesp/Araraquara. Professor da Rede Estadual de Ensino de Roraima e Professor da Universidade Estadual de Roraima.
